“He/She comes home”

Giiwe, embodies the essence of our mission – to bring the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation community back to its roots, heritage, and cultural identity. Giiwe is a place where our children can connect with their heritage, where our community can come together, and where reconciliation can be nurtured through shared understanding.

We invite you to join us on this journey to create a beacon of hope, a sanctuary of learning, and a home for healing.

Giiwe will be a place where Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities come together to learn, share, and grow. It will foster empathy and understanding, essential for true reconciliation.

We invite you to open your hearts and minds, to be part of something transformative. Together, we can build a space that bridges the past and the future, the Indigenous and non-Indigenous, in a journey toward reconciliation.

Giiwe will preserve our ancestral knowledge through a museum and the repatriation of artifacts. It will strengthen cultural knowledge, support Anishinaabemowin speakers, and provide space for Nation governance, distinguishing cultural practices from heritage.
